On Monday, May 27, the Columbus Blue Jackets assigned forward Brendan Gaunce to the Cleveland Monsters. Due to an injury towards the end of the season, the Monsters’ Captain hasn’t played in a game since April 11.

Depending on where Gaunce is at in his recovery, he will likely play in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals at the Hershey Bears on May 30. Hopefully, having their Captain back will provide an extra jolt of energy to Cleveland.

In 24 games with the Blue Jackets this season, Gaunce notched four points, split evenly between goals and assists. While with the Monsters, Gaunce has 39 points and 37 penalty minutes with a +7 rating in 46 games.
